To Casey's children and family: From a fellow anesthesiologist: Honor your mother's memory by being the best you you can be. Be kind, work hard, find people you love. When you have a problem, run straight at it looking for ways to solve it. It will allow you to rise to a higher more interesting level of problem solving and will make your life much richer. Find friends, talk about your mom, laugh, remember. She would want you to do all these things. All my love and support. Sarita Brouwer, M.D.

Although I did not have the pleasure of personally knowing Dr. Drawert, she sounds like a wonderful mother, daughter, friend, colleague and generous spirit whose light was extinguished much too soon. May her love and legacy fill the empty spaces left behind in those who had the privilege of traveling her path.
With deepest sympathy,

I had a hard time to find the words to express how much Casey touched my life, Casey and her work and life was beyond words. Each thing that she did was incredible. I had the privilege of working with her, learning from her, and seeing her awesome compassion, wisdom and faith that she gave to everyone that she came into contact with. Casey always had a kind word and a wonderful smile for you. I remember when Casey was pregnant with Molly how she would just GLOW and was so very happy and excited about her baby coming soon. Words of comfort will never be enough with this senseless tragedy that took Casey way too soon, but please know that I send prayers of comfort, and love at this time. May God bless each and everyone of you.

Wanted to share a nice memory of Casey. When we were interns together she convinced us to name our new puppy after her, which we did. She always got a good laugh out of it afterward when I told her our Casey was chewing socks or terrorizing the other dogs. Every time I saw her she asked about her canine namesake.

Never saw her without a smile on her face. A truly lovely person. Very very sorry.

If Casey was anything like her mother, she was a wonderful lady. My heart is so broken with sadness at her tragic death. I am praying for you, Donna, the children, and all of the family and friends. Grace and peace and the comfort of the Holy Spirit be with you all. - Friend of Donna and John Austin

Our prayers are with her children and family and friends.
As a great book foretold earth has no sorrow that heaven can't cure. So we call on God in these times to comfort the family, and to help and keep the family. We celebrate Dr. Casey through our memories and all that she has done to educate, build up, and give back, and may her work never be forgotten. May her love and compassion live on through her children and family and students who were blessed to have her as a mentor.

I have so many memories of Casey, but the one that is the brightest in my mind is of her reassuring me that I would make it through my first pregnancy after a loss. She truly understood the terror of pregnancy with no living children after losses of her own. I know how she cherished her children and was always in awe of how well she could balance work and motherhood. She was an amazing Doctor and just fun to be on call with. I wish I could be there to celebrate her life, but I am there in spirit remembering her and mourning.
