Tribute & Message From The Family

Leon Robert Sidari, age 4, died early Christmas day morning in San Antonio, Texas from an aggressive influenza. Leon was a gentle, loving boy who always looked out for his younger brothers, Tristan and Cameron. He loved building a snowman with his father, Tony, in the recent and rare Texas snowfall, and being the little man for his mother, helping out each day with his best friend and dog, Sawyer. Leon loved giving rather than receiving, collecting countless stuffed cats, knocking down sandcastles at the beach, skipping stones into the lake, cooking imaginary meals, and feeding the birds.

Leon is survived by his parents, Tony and Laura (Lyman) Sidari, two brothers, Tristan and Cameron, grandparents Gail/Nathan Lyman, Lori/Mitch Murek, Paul/Margie Sidari, and innumerable extended family members and friends.

Condolence & Memory Journal

I just read Leon's story on the CNN website and was absolutely heartbroken for you and your family, but I wanted to let you know that I immediately stopped what I was doing and called my nine-year-old son's doctor to schedule his check up and flu shot for next Wednesday. Thank you for so bravely sharing your family's tragedy. Your grief is unimaginable, but I the hearts of so many, myself included, are with you, and Leon's story will surely save lives. Sending lots of love and prayers from Atlanta, Georgia!

Our hearts are aching for you, Sidari family. This beautiful little boy, gone from your lives but joyfully greeted by, I know, my mom and all the other good people who have also reached that pinnacle of our aspirations as human beings , to see the face of our creator. A human baby, the most beautiful gift of God, who, the ending words of our Mass say, He gives us all that is GOOD.

Oh, when the saints go marching in, he'll surely be in the number!

I was his neighbor accross the street who had the prevlidge to have this sweet little boy walk through my home at christmas time and enjoy the way I like to decorate for Christmas, for children as I did in the front yard. He was such a good boy to his mom a dad and brothers and this was seen through the eyes of a woman name Mica, who adored him and bragged about him and you as a family all the time. Laura and Tony you have done a wonderful job at being parents to your precious Leon and two other children. Who knows why Leon had to leave us so soon other then GOD needed Leon or perhaps GODS only Son needed Leon more for his work. Leon is in a Wonderful Place I sure hope I get there. Tony and Laura I pray for your heavy hearts and I know Leon is looking down on you and wants the Sun to Shine on you again or maybe some snow for a snowman.

His smile, his joy, his energy, and his kindness graced our world for too short a time. My heart and thoughts are with each of you during this sorrowful time.
