Nancye Lee Alvarado, 70, entered into the hands of our Lord on September 14, 2018. Born in Holly Ridge, NC to Gordon and Madeline Duff Summerlin, she graduated from Dixon High School in 1965. She won an award in French, and drove the Dixon School Bus her senior year, and also played basketball and sang in the Glee Club. She sang for her church in Holly Ridge, and also directed the Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay Hawaii Choir, where she also played softball, bowled, and sang two parts in the play "Only an Orphan Girl." She also directed the Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, GA Choir and Faith Formation. Nancye was a founding parishioner and sang solos for Holy Trinity Catholic Church Choir. Nancye's main jobs in life away from home included recruiting for JC Penny where she was selected to model fashions. She worked for HQ Marine Corps Arlington Virginia, and CIA locations. Finally, she worked for Fisher House, Women's Shelter, and Any Baby Can. In her spare time, she volunteered for Navy Relief and the Red Cross. Above all, Nancye loved her children first and foremost and was a servant to the needs of others.
