Tribute & Message From The Family

Born August 26, 1922 Lucille M. Rutledge was a deeply religious and strong willed woman. She passed away on December 12, 2018 at the age of 96. She was a life long resident of San Antonio.
The only child of Edmund Siebenhor and Agnes Boeck Siebenhor, she endured the early deaths of two young sons, Wade in 1948 and Greg in 1953 and that of her husband Paul in 1979.
She is survived by four children, Paulette Brient, Patrick Rutledge, Raymond Rutledge and Valery Biancardi and their spouses. Also surviving are five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous grandpets. Lucille spent her long life in service to her faith, community, and family. She spent decades volunteering at various parishes and in scouting activities. She received numerous awards and recognitions for her service over the years. She was a great lover of parades and enjoyed gardening.
She enjoyed foreign travel and participated in several pilgrimages in Europe and the Holy Land. She was an avid Texas Longhorn fan, attending games well into her later years.
The family would like to recognize the tender care and compassion provided by the staff at the Army Residence Community & Kindred Hospice.
The celebration of her life includes a visitation from 6-7 p.m. on Sunday December 16th at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs. Rutledge. She was my Girl Scout leader in the 1970s when I was in high school, and fortunately we had a chance to re-connect a few years ago here in New Mexico when she was visiting her son in El Paso. Valery, Ray, and all of her family, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and for the peaceful repose of Mrs. Rutledge in heaven.

We are saddened by Lucille's passing as we will sorely miss her and our visits at the Army Residence Community. We are comforted we were able to spend precious time together as neighbors and friends--time much too short. Hers was a life lived well in faith and in service to others--and most of all in love for her family. May your grief be short but your memories be long.

Ours in remembrance of a wonderful life.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Lucille Rutledge. May God grant you peace at this time of your loss.

My Grandmother was Mary Siebenhor Peters. I wish I had learned more about her ancestors. Your mother's picture just glows with sweetness, as I am sure she was. May she rest in peace.
