Condolence & Memory Journal

My thoughts are with you at this time of loss. I would have sent a note earlier but the notice about Dr. Anderson's passing just recently ran in the Reno paper. I truly enjoyed working with Doc' on our dog bite prevention video and program, Bow Wow Ow!, in 2003.

We had just talked recently about converting the teaching video and putting it up on YouTube for free downloading to get the word out even more about dog bite prevention for children and I plan on getting that accomplished in the next few months.

He was an honorable man and I was lucky to have the opportunity to work with him. He will be missed.

All the best to his family.

Please accept my belated condolences. I enjoyed working closely with Dr. Anderson at the Nevada Department of Agriculture on many projects. I recently retired from the agency and was saddened to see his obituary in the Reno Gazette Journal. Working for a regulatory agency, I valued his no-nonsense approach, but appreciated his insight and sense of humor. Ron was an avid sports fan and we spent a lot of time talking about the Twins and Vikings. The photograph you included in the obituary is always how I will remember him.

My belated condolences to the ken folks of a man who helped shape my Army career. Ron was instrumental in urging me to study for and completed the examinations for the organization that has become the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. He also gave me some pre-assignment info prior to my assignment to command the US Army Veterinary Services in Korea that were extremely helpful during my almost three years there. Also, I extremely thank him for his senior leadership in the Veterinary Corps that helped me and many of my peers. COL (Ret) Howard "Butch" Johnson, Spring Branch, TX

My condolences to the family for your loss. I served with Colonel Anderson both at the Academy of Health Sciences, FT. Sam Houston, TX and as his 1SG in Korea. He always pushed himself and subordinates to exceed the norm. RIP

It also makes my heart heavy to read about my colleague and friend Ron. I will let the other veterinarians in in our class of 1961 know about it. Ron, Ben Porer and myself got together many years at the Western States Veterinary Conference. Sorry and sad to hear about his passing. Geolrge Krienke DVM

My sincere sympathy to the Anderson family. Served with Ronnie at Fort Riley. Douglas AZ, and Fort Benning. We happily joined the new "otter" company together. He was an outstanding officer, aviator, and
a special friend. My wife and I were sad to see Ronnie and Jackie leave the service for vet school.
