Tribute & Message From The Family

Lorene Brigman Kramer, age 95, passed away on January 9, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in New Berlin, Texas to Ed and Lilly Lenz, and moved to San Antonio after high school. She met and married A. L. "Tony" Brigman in 1941 and in 1942 they had a daughter, Carol. After Carol started first grade in 1948, Lorene went to work part-time for Joske's department store. In 1956, she left Joske's and opened her own dress shop called Lenore's where she worked until 1961. After closing the dress shop, she became a buyer for Miss Teena Texas at Joske's and remained a buyer in Better Sportswear for 32 years.

After the death of husband Tony, she met Colonel Frances "Pete" Kramer with whom she had 3 wonderful years before his passing. Lorene loved her family first, and shopping second. In her later years, one of her favorite things to do was to go gambling with her daughter and close friends, Nancy and Charlie Rheams.
She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Tom Morgenthaler, granddaughters Michele Morgenthaler and Karen VanDeWalle, son-in-law Brian VanDeWalle, and great-grandsons Kade and Blake VanDeWalle. Also, she leaves behind her adopted daughter, Joan Stewart, adopted granddaughter, Gigi Stoll and numerous nieces and nephews.

Adored and treasured by so many, our Meme brought joy to everyone around her, and she always said, "I had a wonderful life."

Arrangements are being made by Porter Loring Mortuaries for a private graveside service for the family. Contributions can be made in Lorene's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
