Luther Melson Locker Jr., "Steve", age 79, was taken to be with the Lord on Friday, January 11 in Boerne, Texas during a tragic car accident. He was born on June 9, 1939 in Morganza, Louisiana to Luther Sr. and Kitty Locker. He served on the destroyer, USS Collette, as a certified diver & boiler room operator during the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals. He was a 1st generation Eagle Scout, to be followed by his only son and only grandson also becoming Eagle Scouts. He was a member of the Boerne Chapter of The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) where he served in several capacities within the organization. Luther is survived by his wife, Carole A. Locker; son, Jeffrey L. Locker; daughter in law, Leslie K. Locker; grandson, Andrew J. Locker; granddaughter, Mikayla K. Locker; brother in law, David Laird; beloved dogs, Kady & Cricket.

A great loss. In the few years we have known Steve he was a kind and thoughtful person,with a sense of humor. Steve would be sought out for conversation and opinion. We can reflect on the happiness he brought to our lives,and we express our condolences to Carole and family .

I have only known Steve for a couple of years, but I grew to appreciate and know him in a very short time. Steve was a very kind man and will be sorely missed. His friendship was truly special. My most sincere condolences to Carol and his family. Sam Altimore, Fair Oaks Ranch
