Tribute & Message From The Family

Myrlie Moore, age 72, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. Myrlie was born August 5th in San Antonio, TX, where she later attended Northside (now known as Marshall High School). As a cheerleader, she was popular, well liked, and never without a smile on her face. As you can imagine, many were surprised when Myrlie accepted the challenge to race her '64 Vette against an unknown student, by the name of Reed Moore. The disagreement over who won that race was never determined, none the less, the cheerleader and rebel married soon after, and over their 53-year marriage, neither ever backed down from who the "real" winner was.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reed B. Moore; parents, Bertram and Jonelle Eckhart; and brother, Kyle Eckhart. Myrlie is survived by her son, Collin R. Moore and wife Simone; daughter, Keely Moore; grandchildren, Mikayla Moore, Chandler Moore, Kinsley Sadler; brother, Lynton Eckhart and his wife Teri; and sister, Lyla E. Belken.
