Tribute & Message From The Family

Doris Nell Lewellen Brock, age 89, passed away on June 8, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. Doris was born on January 4, 1930 in Temple, Texas to Jewell Reid and Harry David Lewellen. She grew up in Temple and San Antonio before meeting the love of her life Travis Warner Brock and marrying in 1949. They raised four children and lived in Belton, Austin, Temple, Arlington and Burnet before building their dream home in Bertram, Texas. Doris worked as an LVN for many years and once all her kids had graduated she went back to school and earned her BSN from Central Texas College and fulfilled her dream of becoming a registered nurse at the age of 57. She was so proud of her work as a cardiac care nurse at the hospital in Burnet and cared for her patients like they were her own family.

Family was her greatest love, but traveling was a close second, especially if she got to combine the two. She took many road trips around the country through the years with Travis and other family. She enjoyed snow skiing, taking cruises to tropical destinations and was thrilled when she finally made it to Europe for a dream vacation.

She loved Jesus and was proud to be a member of Church of the Hills in Cedar Park for many years.

After the death of her husband in 2009, she relocated to El Paso to be close to her youngest son and his family and later moved to San Antonio to live the last six years with her daughter's family. She made many friends in both communities along the way through her volunteer work with El Paso Community College and Ordinary Miracles Canine Rescue in San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; sister, Ann Lemmons; grandson, Brandon K. Brock; great granddaughter, Taylor Elisabeth Brock; and son-in-law, Robert Terry Gueringer.
She is survived by her children, Terrell W. Brock and wife, Ann; Rhonda Brock Gueringer; Barry K. Brock and wife, Linda; Randy P. Brock and wife, Debra.
Eleven grandchildren: Emily Tidwell; Justin Tidwell and wife, Karisa; Laurie Brock and partner, Danyelle Morgan; Aaron Brock; Michael Brock; Lesley Brock and wife, Sammie; Hannah Brock; Izabella Brock; Alexandra Brock; Jad Graves and wife, Jennifer; and John Graves and wife, Danyale.
Eighteen great grandchildren: Blake Brock; Peyton Martin; Brook Tidwell; Riley Tidwell; Ashlyn Tidwell; Austin Brock; Alex Brock; Michael Brock; Mia Brock; Kyler Brock; Keira Brock; Diamond Brock; Kerin Brock; Aleiha Graves; Silas Graves; Remington Graves; Ainsley Graves; and Espynn Graves.
She is also survived by her beloved dogs Molly and Olive. You could rarely get through a visit without her pulling out her phone to show them off.

The family will receive visitors Saturday, June 15th from 5-7 PM, Porter Loring North, 2102 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, TX 78232.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 19th at 11 AM, Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 SH 195, Killeen, Texas 76542.

Donations for the care of her dogs Molly and Olive may be made to Ordinary Miracles Canine Rescue at P.O. Box 201612, San Antonio, Texas 78220.
