Tribute & Message From The Family

Herminia Luna Casanova, age 92, passed away on June 18, 2019, in San Antonio. She was preceded in death by her parents, twelve siblings, and her devoted husband, of 67 years, David Charles Casanova. Herminia Casanova is survived by her four loving daughters: Darlene Alarcon (husband, Edward), Marla Casanova, Carla de la Fuente (husband, Michael), and Denise Casanova, and by her loving grandchildren: Edward D. Alarcon(Kristen), Stephen Alarcon(Elsa), Michael Alarcon, Monica Alarcon, Amanda Gonzalez(Oscar), Chris de la Fuente, Hannah, and Matthew Soudah. She is also survived by her nine great grandchildren: Joshua, Timothy, Elizabeth, Eddie Daniel, Isabella, Nathaniel, Sophia, Luca, and Leila.

Herminia grew up in a loving, caring family of twelve siblings and parents, Pedro and Antonia. She often shared treasured memories of her childhood with her family. Her humble beginnings helped to form the beautiful, genuine, and loving woman that she was to everyone who knew her. She was hardworking and dedicated to her family. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing(making many outfits for her four young daughters), and dancing. Both our parents shared a passion for dancing; often being nicknamed "Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers" by everyone who witnessed them on the dance floor.

Friends and family knew her as "Minnie". She will be remembered as a loving, caring, and genuinely giving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. Our mother is reunited with our father and Our Heavenly Father in eternal peace. She will be deeply missed, but forever loved by her family and her loving legacy will continue through all those that she touched on this earth.

Condolence & Memory Journal

Sincere condolences to my cousins on the loss of a sweet, caring, and amazing Mother. Tia Minnie was a source of happiness and fun for all us Garzas. I remember going to your home and playing and eating and having a great time. Your parents (Tio David is remembered fondly also) and ours (Nick and Estella), would get dressed up in suits and lovely dresses and go out partying! Now your Mom and Dad, and my own Dad are having fun in heaven! God shine his light on you all. Rest in Peace, dear Tia.
