Condolence & Memory Journal

I was so saddened to hear of Camille's passing. She only met me once but supported our project immediately. We were looking forward to sharing the fruits of our labor with her but now will have to take solace in knowing that her support for us will benefit others. She will be missed.

We count it a great privilege that we had the brief, but impactful, intersection of our lives with Camille and now her family at this time. Her sudden departure deprives us of knowing how richly giving, deeply loving, and immensely talented she was as a most humble contributor and teacher to society's children in San Antonio. She impressed us as a person who continued to learn from everyone on most anything. Much comfort for Gary, Kevin, and their families as we'll all miss Camille as well. But what a way to go out, Camille, to the upbeat rhythm from friends and students of the mariachi band!

Camille, I wanted to thank you for being my friend going on 20 years now. I will miss you but have many memories of you over the years. That all came to my mind when I heard I was flooded with so many memories of us. We missed some time for a little while but when I was hospitalized in April and I didnt really tell anyone but here you came with your contagious smile and a plant for me. It was such a wonderful surprise! You were always so giving. You were there for me when I lost my sister and most recently my dad right at Thanksgiving. I loved spending time with you at breakfast you had so many stories to tell of your travels that I loved to hear. I knew you were sick last time we went to lunch and you could barely catch your breath and I didnt want you to drive. But you were always the go getter and insisted you were ok you were stubborn though and I didnt have numbers to call your family. I didnt find out you were in hospital I dont look at Facebook everyday, I am sorry I didnt get to see you. When I called you on the 24th I wanted to come over but you wanted to rest. Your sense of humor was still there that day I asked if you were alone and you said "no I have this stupid dog staring at me, do you want a dog?" We had a good chuckle over this and it will be my fondest memory of you and our last laugh together. I will miss you forever but one day we will be together again but please done expect me too soon! I love you girl!
