Condolence & Memory Journal

One of the joys and blessings of my ministry has been knowing and being a friend of Beverly and Reeves. Beverly and I served as Trustees of Methodist Hospital in the 80's. After I retired and made LHUMC my church home it great to greet them again. Rev. Bert Clayton

Dear Smith Family members,
It was with great sadness that I read of the passing of Mrs. Smith. I so admired her graciousness and kind nature. She was just as beautiful inside as out. My late father loved Mrs. Smith and cherished her friendship. Now she is at her eternal resting place and reunited with Dr. Smith. May God bless Mr. and Mrs. Smith and may God bless your families during this sad and difficult time.

When Beverly took her marriage vows to Reeves in the Laurel Heights Church 72 years ago it was the beginning of a lifetime of devotion to the congregation. She expressed her kindness and love in generosity. Her gentle touch and strong convictions about high quality and good design made her a leader in every church interior and exterior project throughout her 72 years among us. She lived as an example of beauty, elegance and sincere friendship to a grateful Laurel Heights community . My family and I are all thankful for the opportunity to enjoy many years of friendship with Beverly and Reeves at Laurel Heights and are deeply saddened by their loss. Our condolences go to the whole Smith family .

Beverly's passing away is a huge loss to all those close to her. I have always admired her graciousness and friendliness every time our paths crossed. Her having been among those who served on Sunshine Cottage's Board of Trustees, I am most thankful for her dedication to this school I attended in the 50's. With deepest condolences to the family.
