Tribute & Message From The Family

Eloise Garcia Lucas passed into eternal peace August 1, 2020, in San Antonio Texas.

Eloise, the oldest of twelve children, was born on February 19, 1934, to Elida and Jesus Garcia in Alice, Texas. The Garcia's lived in Alice, Texas for many years before moving to San Antonio. After graduating from high school, Eloise moved to Burbank, California to begin life away from home. During this time, her son Jeff was born. Being a single mother, Eloise worked long hours as a secretary to see that her son was well taken care of.

Eloise was a fun person that loved being with people and had many friends. She loved dancing, family gatherings and her glass of Chardonnay wine in the evenings. She also loved watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Three years following a diagnosis of dementia, the need to live with her son, Jeff and his wife became apparent and in June of 2012, she moved in with her family. Eloise was cared for by her family until March 2020, when the very difficult decision to move her to skilled nursing care was made for her safety.

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, Elida and Jesus Garcia; husband, Ken Lucas; three brothers, Alejos Garcia, Alex Garcia and Dario Garcia; four sisters, Juana Garcia, Francis Rogers, Elma Jordan and Mary White; and brother in law, Dalton White.

Eloise is survived by her son, Jeffrey Tucker and wife Merrilyn; three brothers, Tony Garcia and his wife Lea, Jesse Garcia and Jasper Garcia; sister, Sophie Lucas; two sisters-in-law, Maria Garcia and Sharon Garcia; two granddaughters, Jasmine Rodriguez and Eloise Tucker; four great grandchildren, Ramona, Ellieann, Michael and Cynthia; many nieces and nephews that Eloise loved and they loved her.
