Tribute & Message From The Family

Our beloved father, brother, and friend, Phillip S. Fleming, passed away in his sleep at Northeast Baptist Memorial Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 77 on July 17th, 2020 in the early morning hours at 12:05 AM. He was born on August 28, 1942, in Portland, Oregon, to parents Stanley A Fleming and Margaret J Tharp. At the age of 19, Phillip joined the United States Airforce right out of high school, where he proudly served 22 years, 11 months and retired as Master Sergeant. After retiring he resided in San Antonio, Texas for 30 years while serving another 10 years with the United States Postal Service. In his spare time he always enjoyed challenging his intellect by playing and mastering sports of strategy and skill, such as bowling, darts, golf, and poker. Phil will be forever cherished by all who knew him as a kind man and for his propensity for helping others when he could and for trying when he could not. Phillip will be remembered as having a subtle but strong inner strength that was remarkable in that he would never force his will on others, instead he would live his life by the golden rule of " Do unto others as you would have them do unto you ". Phil got along with everyone and he rarely left anywhere without a new friend or acquaintance. He will be missed for his influence and steady strength in all our lives. Phillip S. Fleming is survived by his only son, Ric S. Fleming and his sister Kaye L Frey.
