Obituary for Isa S. Taylor

January 18, 1929 - January 18, 2019
San Antonio, Texas | Age 90

Isa Saraiva Taylor died in her home in the first hour of her 90th birthday on Friday, January 18, 2019. She was the youngest of three girls, born on January 18, 1929 to Ermelinda and Propercio Saraiva in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 1956, when she was 27 years old, she boldly followed her dreams to the US with only $50. Initially she lived in New York City but later moved to Washington DC to attend George Washington University where she earned a degree in Cultural Anthropology. She had many accomplishments, including working for the World Health Organization and many years at the Houston Police Department working as the Volunteer Director. But what set her apart most was her loving and generous spirit. She was a humble person, always putting others first and giving away all the love in her heart. She loved to paint, read, and feed the deer and stray cats in her neighborhood. She was perpetually silly and always did her best to get a laugh. Most importantly, she found hope and truth in scripture, and relationship with Jesus Christ. She is home with him now, in the place He prepared for her. She was loved by her entire family and will be missed by those who survive her; her son Jeff Taylor and his wife Anna, her daughter Jennifer and husband Doug, and their children Kira, Barret, and Alicia, her sisters Lucia Saraiva in Brazil, her niece Marcia Glassie and her daughter's Georgia and Alison and their families, her nephew Wilson Sallum Jr., his wife Gail, their children Ulysses, Christine and Stephanie and their families. She joins her parents, her sister Helen and her great niece Jacquelin in heaven. Her memory will be cherished always.
