Jerry D. Hardwick, 67, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. Jerry was born to Jimmy and Mildred Hardwick in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, May 17, 1951. In 1982 he graduated Summa cum Laude from the University of Maryland where he joined the prestigious Phi Beta Kapa. That same year he was accepted to the Austin Presbyterian Seminary from which he later graduated with a Master of Divinity in 1985. He then went on to earn a Doctorate of Theology from Kingsway Theological Seminary. In 1978 Jerry married Magdalena Guillaumet in Zaragoza, Spain where he was stationed while in the Air Force. Jerry pioneered an evangelistic Christian education program for the Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marines. He recruited, trained, and supervised hundreds of staff and volunteers to provide ministry to thousand of troops every week. As the Associate National Director of Gateway Ministries, he planned and coordinated evangelistic events including the 1997 Billy Grahm Crusade, Annual Texas Military Breakfasts, Annual FamilyLife marriage conferences, concerts and performances. Since 2002 Jerry held the title as founder and president of New Centurions Evangelistic Association, whose mission is helping create and develop Protestant military chaplaincies and evangelistic ministries in Latin America.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Jerry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Magdalena Guillaumet Hardwick; sons, Jerry D. Hardwick, Jr. and Christian M. Hardwick; daughter, Desiree Roquemore; sister, Jimmie Ellen Clark; brother, Frank Snyder, Jr.; grandchildren, Spencer Hardwick, Sydni Hardwick, Caleb Roquemore, and Isabeau Roquemore.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

12:00 P.M.

Rev. Adam Knight and Rev. Bob Long will officiate. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Caleb Roquemore, Neil Bryant, Jerry Hardwick, Christian Hardwick, Garland Henderson, Soapy Dollar, Dave Ptomey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Centurions, Inc.
