On Aug 28, 2020 Cara Lynn (Hamilton) Halvorson, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away suddenly at the age of 54. She will be lovingly remembered for her many talents, quick wit, humor, and storytelling.

Cara was born January 21, 1966 to Herbert and Carol Hamilton in Galveston, TX. She was married to the love and light of her life, Eric Halvorson of Bulverde, for 25 years. She raised two sons. They survive her and are heartbroken by their loss. David and wife, Marcy Hulsey, of Katy, Tx., and Joshua and wife, Kady Hulsey of Castroville, TX.

She grew up with two sisters and was the eldest member of the "Lynn Hamilton Trio". They survive and are deeply saddened by her untimely death. Sara and husband, Brian Thomas of Kerrville, TX, and Diana and husband, Joe Williford of Marlin, TX.

Cara was a simple and very funny woman who loved her family and the family gatherings to eat. She wanted her service to be simple as well, and her wishes will be honored. "She'll be missed!! LET'S EAT!!!" The family will have a private memorial.

Other survivors who are left behind to cherish her memory include her father-in-law and "partner in crime", Rob Halvorson of Bulverde; grandchildren, Luke and Benjamin Hulsey of Katy, TX, and Morgan Hulsey of Del Rio, TX; nieces and families, Shawnda Benjamin, Peyton Hilburn, and Autumn Benjamin all of Kerrville, TX, and Hailey and Hannah Halvorson both of San Antonio; nephews and families, Richard Hamilton of Waco, Travis, Chase, Jack, Jacob and Levi Halvorson, all of San Antonio, Jason and Allison Thomas and their children Payton and Tenley of Goliad, TX, as well as Cody & Michaela Thomas and their children Bryce and Holden all of College Station, TX; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chris and Amy Halvorson and Joel and Jennifer Halvorson, all of San Antonio; and aunts and uncles, Billie and Patrick McIntyre of Eustace, TX, Mike and Lottie Magee, and Steve and Darlene Gunter all of Athens, TX. She is also survived by numerous cousins and other extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Carroll (Butter)Powers; grandparents, Bill and Ruth Magee of Tyler Tx, James and Jewel Bostic of Malakoff Tx.; mother-in-law, Jo Ann Halvorson; brother-in-law, Nick Halvorson; nephew, Carson Thomas of College Station; and best friend and "side kick" of 40+ years, Cricket (Johnny) Gwynne of Del Rio Tx.
