Obituary

Abby Adair Loudermilk, 39, of San Antonio, TX passed away on November 1st, 2018. Born January 7, 1979, in San Antonio, TX, Abby was the daughter of Dr. Gary and Beth Loudermilk. Abby received her B.A. in English at Southeastern University in Hammond, LA and then went on later to get her law degree at St. Mary's Law School in San Antonio, TX. She had her own private law practice.

She is survived by her parents, Dr. Gary and Beth Loudermilk; her beautiful, beloved daughter Grace McAlpin (and Grace's father, Courtenay "Chico" McAlpin); brother Brandon (and his wife, Myriam) Loudermilk; sister Sara (and her husband, Christopher) Mayeu; her niece Catherine Mayeu; her nephews Conner Mayeu and Alexander Loudermilk; her aunts Brenda Loudermilk (and Joe Foy), Karen Ellingsworth, Colleen "Boo" (and her husband, Paul) Strapkovic, and Melissa (and her husband, Ron) Jones; her uncles Bill (and his wife, Jean) Conner, and David Muth; her cousins Elise (and her husband, Randy) Mosty (and their three children), Ryan and Evan Conner, Bryn Cornwell, Tammy (and her husband, Kyle) Grizzle (and their three children) and Rebecca Jones. She also leaves behind a multitude of dear friends from AA, the legal field as well as many life-long friends. One of Abby's best traits was the ability to make friends everywhere she went and from all walks of life. This is a gift few people possess and she did with such ease.

Abby actively volunteered and participated in multiple organizations, including sponsoring and helping many through AA, setting up a softball tournament fundraiser for Pay it Forward, serving as General Counsel and Interim Executive Director for CSAW (for CTNNB1) and helping with the Sutherland Springs Pro Bono project for the BAR. She was known for her sharp wit, boisterous laugh and her kind, compassionate spirit. She was never too busy to lend an ear or offer help to those in need. Abby touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at University United Methodist Church (5084 DeZavala Rd; San Antonio, TX 78249) at 9:00 am on Friday, November the 9th , 2018.
