Ann Cornwell Brewer was born in Charleston, West Virginia on December 21, 1918. She graduated from De Sales Heights School, attended business school in Wheeling, West Virginia and married Claude A. Brewer five days after Pearl Harbor. She lived with Claude's parents in Crowley, LA while he was in the Pacific Theatre. After the war they resided in Crowley where he developed a seed rice drier, until his death in 1979. Ann moved to Ruidoso, NM and later to Tucson, AZ. The last fifteen years of her life she resided in San Antonio, where she was an avid Bridge player into her nineties. Surviving family includes: daughter Claudia Brewer of Austin and granddaughter Carrie Glassmeyer; daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Joe Sheldon of Houston and Madisonville, Texas and their children, Michelle and James Davis of Dallas, Ben and Kelly Morton of Dripping Springs and Noelle Sheldon of Dallas. Surviving great grandchildren include Mallory and Harrison Davis and Max Morton. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the caregivers at Morningside Ministries, Good Shepard Hospice and Seniors Helping Seniors. Donations can be made in her memory to the SPCA.
