Barbara Schieferle Uhlenbrock, P.D., R.Ph., age 56, of San Antonio, Texas passed away in her home on Tuesday, April 4th, after a fourteen year battle with breast cancer.

Born August 12th, 1949 in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was preceded in death by her father, Henry DeSalvo.

She is survived by her husband, John Schieferle Uhlenbrock; her three children, Brett, Todd and Kara Peterson of San Antonio; and two step-sons, Johnny and Jeff Schieferle Uhlenbrock. Also surviving are her mother, Gloria DeSalvo, her brother, Stephen DeSalvo and his wife, Keeley, all of Hot Springs, Arkansas; her brother Mark DeSalvo and his wife, Dorsey of Destin, Florida; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

Barbara graduated from Mount St. Mary's Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1967. She attended the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences, School of Pharmacy, graduating in 1972. Her first position as a pharmacist was with Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. She currently worked at Northeast Methodist Hospital in San Antonio where she was a pharmacist for almost 15 years.

Barbara traveled extensively in Europe and was an avid collector of teddy bears, searching for them in all corners of the world. We think she found each and everyone her heart desired. She was also a great fan of the San Antonio Spurs. Barbara's contagious smile, hearty laugh, kind heart and genuine love for life spread happiness to every life she touched. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
