Obituary

Born September 27, 1918 in Houma, Louisiana, Betty Wyatt Davisson died on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Betty was a timeless southern sophisticate; always lovely to look at with impeccable taste. Betty married Dave Davisson on Christmas Day, 1939. In her adjustment to Army life, Betty moved 39 times in 30 years. She adored France in general, and Paris specifically, but San Antonio was her home.

Betty was generously pragmatic with money. She would say "So many problems can't be solved; if money will solve a problem, use it". Betty's spiritual focus was in the dignified, formal Episcopal tradition. NPR and CNN kept her informed, anyone's misfortune brought instant empathy.

She was in turn, fierce, tender, and humble ~ a determined little Democrat amid Republican opinions, purposefully individualistic, but consistently aware of God's mercy. We loved our mother, grandmother and friend; she would be pleased we thought her unique.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Davisson; her parents, Charles and Ethel Wyatt; brothers Ben and Bill; sister Ruth and daughter Sara. She is survived by her daughter Elisabeth; son-in-law Arthur; son Peter; grandchildren: Jennifer, Sara, Charles, Alice, David, Andrew, Rebecca, Michael, Serena, Noah, Sofi and Amy along with numerous great and great, great grandchildren.
