Obituary for Bill Kramer

April 21, 1945 - August 5, 2019
San Antonio, Texas | Age 74

On Aug 5, 2019 William "Bill" Edward Kramer, 74, passed away peacefully in his home.
A proud and private man, he had battled Parkinson's quietly, not sharing the weight of his illness with family or friends. He continued the life he enjoyed with the purpose and passion as he always had until the disease abruptly stopped his mobility and quickly progressed, taking him from us too soon.

Bill was born in Dodge City, Kansas to Melba and Lawrence Kramer in April of 1945 and raised with his sister in the city he would forever call home, San Antonio. His favorite childhood stories came from summers spent at his Uncle Jay and Aunt Marie's with his many cousins. He loved being part of this big Kramer family. In February of 1968, Bill married Jennifer Forrester and welcomed her family to his list of loved ones. Then Bill and Jenny started their own big family. Just this past May, with joy and pride, he welcomed an amazing addition – Bill's first great grandson, Bradley Gosset!

Left to share with Bradley the wisdom that his great grandfather gave us, and to honor and remember Bill's love, is Bill's beloved wife of 51 years Jennifer Kramer; daughters, Cindy Rosenfeld, Patricia Kramer, Roxane Kramer- Voight, and Jacqueline Valdez; son-in-laws Walter Rosenfeld, Brandon Voight, Eric Valdez; grandchildren, Lauren Gossett and her husband Mike Gossett, Abbey Sorenson, Audrey Welch.

He loved The Spurs. The Cowboys. The Longhorns. The NY Yankees. Classic Rock. Classic Cars. But most of all he loved his wife, his daughters and his granddaughters. His dad days were spent supporting his girls at track meets, swim meets, recitals, theater performances, driving lessons and Special Olympic events. His granddad days were fun filled journeys to Dairy Queen, Spurs games and epic concerts. Always teaching his girls that they were capable of everything.

Bill was that legendary man that could do, build or fix anything he put his mind towards. He was also a hard-working and highly regarded engineer in San Antonio, working with companies including Kotzebue, Carrier, United Technologies, and Holland Equipment. He enjoyed his work, only retiring late last year.

A practical man, Bill did not have much use for flowers. So in lieu of such gifts, raise a glass and rev your engines for our super dad. If you find you have some loose change in your pocket that you can spare in his memory, please donate to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Arc and, remember, Bill would want you to keep that receipt to deduct for tax purposes.

The viewing will be at 6:30pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Porter Loring Mortuary North, and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm.

9:30 AM

Deacon Carlos Marquez will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
