Obituary

Bridget Peterson, 58, died on November 15, 2017, at her home in Spring Branch, Texas. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Bridget had touched throughout her life.

Bridget was born on April 2, 1959, in Bronx, NY to Brigida Rosario. She worked for the Social Security Administration for 35 years, as a Claims Representative and a Union Representative. She loved her job and was extremely passionate about her role as a Union Representative.

Bridget was an ardent advocate and a hero to many, from the children whom she helped heal as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) to the employees whose rights she protected as a Union Representative. She was fearless, always seeking the next thrill, from the highest skydive to the fastest roller coaster to the most complex problem. Bridget was also a fashionista, who always prided herself on her appearance and was known to don the trendiest hats, purses and heels. Most of all, Bridget was an exceptionally proud and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who demonstrated her immeasurable love and support in countless ways.

Bridget is survived by her husband, Stephen E. Peterson, Jr.; her daughter, Nydia Y. Monagas and her husband, Anthony A. Monagas; her son, Miguel A. De Jesus; her stepson, Stephen Lorenzo Peterson; her three grandchildren, Melany, Alejandro, and Javier Monagas; her mother, Brigida Rosario; her brothers, Manuel, Victor, Hector, and Nicky Serrano; her sister-in-law, Leticia Serrano; and, her sister, Nancy Serrano. Bridget also leaves behind her beloved dogs Hans, Buster and Bruno.
