Obituary

In 1947, Carol Novak was born in Chicago to parents of Polish and German immigrants. During her High School Senior Year, Carol met Tony Casas. In 1968, they married and had two daughters, Michelle and Lisa. In 1974, Carol and family moved to Corpus Christi when Tony was hired by H-E-B. Carol became a real Texan and never went back home to Chicago. In Corpus Christi, Carol and Tony gave birth to two more daughters, Nina and Tonie. In 1985, Carol and family moved to San Antonio with the relocation of the H-E-B headquarters. The same year, Carol joined H-E-B as a Cake Decorator at SA#33. She held several positions and worked at different San Antonio stores. Carol retired from H-E-B in 2015 after 28 years of service. She was an active member in the H-E-B Senior Partners Club since 2010. Carol also served AVON as a beauty representative for 30 years (1985 – 2015) providing friends and family with beauty products. Carol's favorite pastime was working in her Arts & Crafts room where she custom made all her Birthday, Holiday and Special Occasion Greeting Cards. She loved making vinyl decals and stickers for the grandkids. She would make decals for t-shirts and baseball caps. She loved making cakes for special occasions and made several of the wedding cakes for her daughters and their close friends. Carol, age 73, lived a beautiful life and will forever be remembered by family and friends for her beautiful smile, wonderful laugh & loving heart. We love you Mom.

Carol is survived by her husband, of 52 years, Tony Casas; four daughters, Michelle Groogan, Lisa Casas, Nina Shokrian, and Tonie Morales; nine grandchildren, Brianna, Garrett, Hannah, Chris, Karis, Sophia, Leila, Owen and James Jr. (ages 6 to 18 years-old); and her faithful dog Oreo.

Due to COVID precautions, the funeral home is restricting the number of people who can attend the Rosary and Chapel Services. We are requesting that only family members attend at this time.

Mrs. Casas will be laid to rest in a private ceremony for the family at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 22, 2020. The family will meet at the cemetery at 12:30-12:45 P.M.
