Obituary

Carroll "CB" Stanley Barbour, 72, of Cotulla, Texas passed away July 10, 2017.

He was born July 24, 1944 in San Antonio to the late Charles Ethel and William Benjamin Barbour.

He is preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Sam Thomas Patton.

He graduated from Cotulla High School in 1962. He was in the ROTC at the University of Texas where he received a BA degree in Accounting and Law Degree in 1969.

He was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and the Texas Bar Association.

CB, as he was affectionately known was a Life Member of the Texas Exes and the San Antonio Livestock Exposition; member of San Antonio German Club and the First Presbyterian Church; founding member of the Runner's Brunch Bunch and also, the SOB's where he enjoyed Thursday lunches with friends for many years.

CB is survived by his devoted wife, Cleda S. Patton. Also, brother James (JB) Barbour of Cotulla; sons, Clinton William Barbour of San Antonio and Matthew Tucker Barbour and his children, Easton Barbour, Brayden Barbour and Brennan Barbour of Cotulla; daughter, Amy White and husband, Hans White and their children, John White IV and Remy White of San Antonio.

He loved to BBQ with his son, Clint on special evenings and discuss sports for hours with his grandson, John IV. Nothing gave him more joy than when his family was around and University of Texas was winning!

One of his favorite times each year was when he and Cleda would go to the Wild Hog Cook-off in Cotulla and also attending Texas OU weekend in Dallas for the last 40 plus years.

CB was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held in Cotulla, Texas at the Cotulla Cemetery on Thursday, July 13th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at Porter Loring Chapel on McCullough on July 13 at 3:00 p.m.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Beken, Ronnie Carson, Alan Cazier, Hal Gatlin, Roger Gerlach, Luid Hancock, Dwayne Harlan, Gary Hillje, Ronnie Jaroszewski, Ty Johnson, Neal Kerr, Gary Ladd Mazoch, Howard Seaton, Steve Thode, and Glenn Trottie.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sunshine Cottage, 603 E. Hildebrand Ave. San Antonio, TX 78212.
