Charles Bryan Willis Wilson of San Antonio, TX passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on the morning of August 12, 2018 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Charles was born on April 25, 1941 in Pecos, TX to James and Josephine Willis. Both parents passed away when Charles was very young, and he and his brother Dave were then adopted by their aunt and uncle, Nancy and Homer Wilson.

Charles was an avid member of the Boys Scouts throughout his young life and went on to receive the distinguished honor of Eagle Scout in 1955. He graduated from Bellaire High School in Houston, TX in June of 1960. He went on to pursue a degree in psychology at Texas Christian University and became a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Beta Theta Chapter. He later earned a bachelor's degree and his master's degree from the University of Texas.

Charles worked with Southwestern Bell for 3 years before moving into a career in the insurance business in 1969 where he spent the remainder of his professional years. He worked with several insurance agencies before settling in with Rogers Benefit Group in 1979. Charles "Chuck" enjoyed a successful career there as the Regional Manager in the South Texas Region for 27 years. He was known for being a kind, intelligent leader who was respected and appreciated by both employees and customers nationwide. He retired from RBG in 2006.

A member of Alcoholics Anonymous since his recovery over 45 years ago, Charles was of great service to other members, his sponsees, and many groups sharing his experience, strength and hope, as well as fostering some of his closest friendships.

In his later years, Charles enjoyed spending time with his wife, Jan, at the Texas Coast, as well as golfing, fishing and attending his grandchildren's many activities throughout Austin and San Antonio.

Charles is survived by his wife, Jan Allison Wilson, his son Kevin Wilson and wife Stephanie, their sons Storm and Alex, and daughter Skyler; his daughter Kristen Gruene and her daughters Hannah and Emma; step-children: Diane Cannon and son-in-law Gary, Susan Lockhart (deceased) and son-in-law Gary, Mike McKay, Scott McKay and Linda McKay; grandchildren: Sarah Hampton, Daniel Cannon, Stephen Lockhart, Jason Lockhart, Jenna Lockhart, Dustin McKay, Jessica Wilson and their respective families including 10 great grandchildren; nieces Wendy Evans and Stacey Stracener, and nephew Keith Wilson and their respective families. Charles was predeceased by his brother James Davis Willis Wilson.

The family wants to extend a special thank you to Charles's caregiver and friend, Blanca Carbajal, Dr. Brian Shimkus and Dr. Vijay Gunuganti along with the rest of Charles's physicians and staff, and St. Gabriel's Hospice and Palliative Care.
