Obituary

Charles T. Davis Sr., a longtime resident of San Antonio, age 102, went to be with his heavenly father December 21, 2017, while living in Houston, Texas, close to his son, Charles Jr. Born May 24, 1915, in Frederick, Oklahoma to Charles Oliver and Hattie Vashti Davis, he spent his youth growing up in Granger, Texas with his younger sister, Virginia Lou.

He was preceded in death by both parents; sister, Virginia, first wife, Ophia and second wife,Loree. After high school graduation, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, earning a BBA in Accounting and Finance. Charles served his country during WWII state side as a civilian consultant for the US Army Corps. Of Engineers here in Texas. Following the war, he married Ophia G. Waggoner and embarked on a 60-year career in the oil and gas industry as an Oil and Gas Accountant and CPA. He was a member of several professional organizations and societies during his distinguished career.

Charles has been a member of Laurel Heights United Methodist Church since 1946, serving on several committees including the church MICE. He married Loree P. Sigmon in the spring of 1978, together they enjoyed their ranchette and the hill country surrounding Comfort Texas, raising longhorn steers, traveling, gardening, visiting with friends and family, and retirement. Charles was married a combined total of 58 years. Charles was known for his sense of humor and pulling a few practical jokes.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Charles Jr. (Christine) Cypress, Texas, Loree's daughter, Dr. Mina L. Sanders, Plano, Texas and Loree's Son, John L. Sigmon (Laura), Sugar Land ,Texas, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park with a reception following the graveside service at Laurel Heights United Methodist Church, 227 West Woodlawn Ave.
