Christina Castillo Day, age 81, went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2019, in San Antonio, TX. Christina was born on July 24, 1938 to Cipriano Calvillo and Felicitas Castillo in San Antonio, TX.

Mrs. Christina Castillo Calvillo Day was born in San Antonio, TX. in 1938. She was the second born of six children, and was the only surviving daughter of three. She spent her teenage years volunteering at her local church teaching Sunday school and was awarded The Crown of Good Grace and Achievements, three years in a row. She graduated from Fox Tech High School and soon join the Navy as a W.A.V.E. The next few years she trained as a Nurse and met her husband John Day, Sr. who was also in the Navy. Shortly after marrying she was honorably discharged and left the Navy to raise her family and moved from Navel base to Navel base with her husband and five children: Dynise Day, Johnny Day Jr., Charles Day Sr., Dorothy Day-Eiss (Formerly Wedgeworth), and Anna Marie Day. In 1973 she moved back to San Antonio, TX. with her family were she has Lived until her death. She worked as a Cafeteria cook for the SAISD for 22 years and retired in 1998.

She is preceded in death by her Grandmother Jesusa Castillo Gonzales, her father Cipriano Calvillo, Mother Felicitas Castillo Calvillo, her Sister Margarite Calvillo who died at age 3, Sister Juanita Calvillo who died at age 9 months, her Uncle Juan Gonzales, her Brothers Fermin Calvillo and Otton Calvillo and her Son Charles C. Day Sr.

She leaves behind her four surviving children; Dynise C. Day, Johnny G Day Jr., Dorothy Day-Eiss (formerly Wedgeworth), and Anna Marie Day. Her grandchildren, Charles C Day Jr, Jessica Marie Day-Montemayor and husband Leo Montemayor, Samantha Wedgeworth-Wiley and her husband Bray Scott Wiley, Sabrina Wedgeworth-Wells and husband Michael Wells, Sondra Wedgeworth and fiancee Taylor Lea and numerous Great Grandchildren. She is loved and will be truly missed.
