Obituary for Daniel R. Blagg

February 14, 1935 - May 19, 2019
San Antonio, Texas | Age 84

Daniel R. Blagg passed away on May 19, 2019, at the age of 84 in San Antonio, Texas. After battling cancer stoically for nearly two years, Daniel died surrounded by his loved ones.

Daniel was treasured by all those who knew him because of his humility, sincerity, and compassion for humanity. He was a philanthropist who eagerly helped those in need, setting an example for everyone close to him.

Daniel was born on February 14, 1935, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico to parents Joshua Blagg Connell and Maria Matias Rios. After completing his studies at the Manuel José Othón academy, Daniel dedicated himself to his family's tradition: managed his family's ranches in the Huasteca Potosina along with his uncle, Robert W. Blagg. His passion for agriculture combined his passion for nature with the simple things in life; he was a great lover of fishing, always looking for the opportunity to throw a fishing line, and spent hours with his great love, the sea.

Throughout his life, Daniel became an entrepreneur who devoted himself to various businesses, including managing properties in Mexico and the United States. Additionally, Daniel was also a founding member of the BANAMEX ACCIVAL Financial Group.

Daniel had three children from his marriage to Yolanda Blagg, whom he loved and valued as the great pride of his life: Brizelda L. Blagg, Daniel Blagg Jr., and Ronald Blagg. In addition, Daniel had five grandchildren who gave him joy and happiness: Darby Kendall Blagg, Carter Logan Blagg, Tatum Mackenzie Blagg, Izabela Rene Blagg, and Ryan Daniel Blagg. His family always appreciated him for the shrewd advice he shared and the unconditional support he offered.

He gave all of his love and lessons to his life partner, Alejandra Enríquez Castro. She and her son, Alfonso A. E. Castro, feel very fortunate for having had the opportunity to grow and thrive every day with Daniel, who gave them experiences they will always cherish.

With Daniel's passing, so too ends the great work of his life: to sow seeds of inspiration in this world, which will grow and flower with love.
