David Charles Casanova, age 92, passed away on January 2, 2019, in San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his parents, and eight siblings. David Casanova is survived by his loving wife, Minnie, married for 67 years. He is also survived by his four daughters: Darlene Alarcon(husband, Edward), Marla Casanova, Carla de la Fuente (husband, Michael), and Denise Casanova, and by his loving grandchildren: Edward D. Alarcon(Kristen), Stephen Alarcon(Elsa), Michael Alarcon, Monica Alarcon, Amanda Gonzalez(Oscar), Chris de la Fuente, Hannah and Matthew Soudah. David is additionally survived by his nine great grandchildren: Joshua, Timothy, Elizabeth, Daniel, Isabella, Nathaniel, Sophia, Luca, and Leila.

David graduated with Honors from Lanier High School. He was a member of the National Honor Society and received several scholarships upon graduating. Wanting to help support his family, he chose to waive college and began what became a thirty-two year career as a Civil Service employee. In addition to his career, he worked a second job for more than fifteen years, proving his selfless dedication to his wife and children.

Our father loved being surrounded by his family, making himself fully accessible to all his children and grandchildren, including his great grandchildren. He and our mother had a passion for dancing, earning the nickname, "Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers" by his adoring family. Our fondest memories include watching them on the dance floor. We will forever hold that memory in our hearts.
Our father is resting peacefully with his heavenly Father and his legacy continues with his family.
