Obituary for David Clarence Tapp

September 14, 1952 - December 1, 2017
San Antonio, Texas | Age 65

... wanted his life to be an example of the servant ...

David Clarence Tapp, age 65, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. He born on September 14, 1952 to his parents, Elmer C. Tapp Jr. and Olive Frances Tays in Kansas City MO.

David graduated Wentworth Military Academy; University of Missouri Kansas City; St. Louis University School of Medicine; and trained in the Nephrology Residency at Brooks Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX. He trained and served as a physician in the US Army.

He practiced Nephrology in San Antonio for many years with Alan Merin, MD, and for a two-year period in Gallup, New Mexico. Later, when he returned to San Antonio, David worked at the Physical Exam Board on Fort Sam Houston.

David attended Redeemer Presbyterian Church on N. St. Mary's in San Antonio, where he served in the Children's ministry teaching Christian education with 4th grade boys and girls.

David loved nature, Romantic poetry, reading, and classical music, but most of all, he loved God. He wanted his life to be an example of the servant. He loved in his Savior and this was seen in his gentle, quiet spirit. He always had a bible with him and studied with several books at a time to fully know God.

He served out his faith as a missionary with his church when able. He loved children and always enjoyed teaching them about the Gospel and how much Jesus loved them. His Boston terriers Roxy and Daisy were so much loved by him that after they passed, he wanted another, and this year, he got Coco.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Aaron Tapp. He is survived by his wife, Janice Marie Cavicchi; daughter Kristin Tapp; step children, Lauren Frame (Charles Frame), Kara Reynolds (Kevin Reynolds), Joshua Haley (Callie Haley) and grandchildren, Nolan Frame, Sarah Frame, Charlotte Reynolds, Cody Haley, and Wade Haley; brother, Mark Tapp of Kansas City, Missouri.
