David Gonzalez, age 85, of San Antonio, died on Monday, February 27, 2018. He was born in Brownsville, TX to parents, Hijinio and Luz Gonzalez. In 1950 David joined the USAF. He was honorably discharged in 1972 and retired from Civil service as an Engineer. David earned several awards and commendations throughout his Air Force and Civil Service Career.

David found pleasure in many things to include woodworking, softball, and was an amazing handyman. He was a Jack of all trades. He was very skilled at plumbing, and mechanics. His passion was helping his family with his creativity, wise counsel, and life experience. He was also a very giving man. He placed his family first and would sacrifice anything for them. David's love for his family was unparalleled.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Maria Martinez; brothers: Luis, Abel, Israel and Daniel Gonzalez.

David is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Irene Gonzalez; daughters, Diana Sonier (Tom), their children Tommy and Gyles; and Dina Aultman (Glenn), their children, Taylor, Brooke, Alyssa and grandchild Jemma; sons, David Gonzalez (Annette), their children, David, Aaron, Stephanie, Dannette, Alyssa, and grandchild Arianna; Dario Gonzalez (Yelybet), their children Krystal, Erik, Katie, Dario, Stephanie, Gabriel, Juan Andres and Andrea, and grandchildren Aliyena, Elijah, and Kalissa; Daniel Gonzalez (Gie), their children Daniel, Cynthia, Stephen, Joselle, Jacob, Martha, Krizel, Christensen, Keith, Gerald, Klarise, and grandchildren Adrian, Savannah, Selena, Stormie, Kaitlyn, Leah, Christian, Sophia, Rain, Nathan, and David;

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 5:00-7:00PM in the Porter Loring Chapel.

SERVICE will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 11:00AM in the Porter Loring Chapel.

In lieu of flowers please make memorials to Wounded Warriors Project,

Interment in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
