Obituary

David Malcolm Haney, age 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, July 13, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on August 9, 1942 in Victoria, Texas to William Frank Haney and Blanche Jeanette White. He proudly served in the US Army from 1959 to 1963 as a Missile Recovery Specialist. In addition to being an Independent Auto Mechanic, he also built airboats for many years. David was an avid saltwater fisherman and loved being on the bay. He was a master craftsman and had the ability to build anything he put his mind to starting at the early age of 6. David became an Amateur Radio Operator in 1977 and was actively involved in many of these clubs. He was married to the love of his life, Judith Haney for 55 wonderful years and was a devoted father of two daughters, Dawn and Dinah. One of his greatest joys was being a doting, fun loving Grandpa to his 5 grandchildren. David had a wonderful sense of humor and was quick to tease anyone to get a smile out of them. David is survived by his wife, Judith Haney; daughter, Dawn Goforth and husband Rick Goforth; daughter, Dinah LaFrey and husband Tim LaFrey; grandchildren, Ashley Baker, R.C. Goforth and wife Shannon Goforth, Allison Baker, Kristyn Goforth, and Jenny Brooks; sister, Jeanette Dittert and husband Henry Dittert; brother, Bruce Haney and wife Gayle Haney; sister-in-law Clo Haney; and Mother-in-law, Grace Pickering.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gary Sinise Foundation.

A celebration of life will be conducted at a later date due to the coronavirus situation.
