Obituary

Dean Clark Countryman died peacefully in San Antonio, Texas, on October 4, 2019, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Judy (Slatten) Countryman, of 66 years; his five children, Craig (Beth) Countryman, Rebecca (Allen) Cissell, Dick Countryman, Bruce (Stephanie) Countryman, and Paul (Marni) Countryman; his eight grandchildren, Ryan (Taryn) Jasmon, David (Bianca) Jasmon, Ben, Caleb, Keiler, Sara, Ursula, and Rory Countryman; and his two great-grandchildren, Perri and Walker Jasmon. Dean is also survived by his sister Denise (Robert) Oliver, and brother David (Diane) Countryman.
Dean spent his four years of military service at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio, in the psychological research and development department. He obtained his BA from Trinity University in San Antonio, and his MBA from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He spent his entire career as an Investment Banker and assisted public and private corporations in raising funds in the capital markets. He was employed by Northern Trust Bank in Chicago, Illinois, Muskegon Bank and Trust in Muskegon, Michigan, and by First National Bank in Springfield, Illinois in 1968. The last ten years of his career were in Rockford, Illinois, at Amcore Bank and Trust.
Upon retirement he and Judy divided their time between Springfield and San Antonio, finally moving full time to San Antonio in 2013.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9th, at 10:00 a.m., at Christ Episcopal Church, 611 E. Jackson St., Springfield, Illinois, with a reception following at the Pasfield House, 525 S. Pasfield St., Springfield, Illinois.
