Obituary

Delores "Dee" Brady Busenlehner, 71, went home to her Lord and Savior on the morning of December 5, 2019. She was born April 23, 1948, in Anniston, Alabama, to the late Robert and Lucille Brady. She grew up in Anniston, but most recently resided in Boerne, Texas, until her death. Dee married Daniel "Dan" Hugo Busenlehner on April 25, 1970. They enjoyed 49 years of marriage together. They loved traveling, socializing with friends, and raising their two children: Laurie Shea Busenlehner Darilek (Craig) and Brian Todd Busenlehner (Christie). Dee was especially proud of her role as Nana to her four grandchildren: MacKenzie Shea Darilek (20), Avery Paige Darilek (18), Brady Thomas Busenlehner (15), Carter Matthew Busenlehner (13). Dee is also survived by her brother Daniel Brady (Terri), nephew Mark Brady, and niece Angela Austin of Alabama. Dee was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church - Honey Creek where she faithfully supported Dan's work with the Stephen Ministry. Dee achieved a successful work career which encompassed both governmental and public sectors. Her last position before retirement was Chief of Accounting for the VA Finance Center in Austin, Texas. In this position, she spent considerable time in Washington D.C., where she developed partnerships with other Federal agencies to improve their operations. During her career, she was known for her leadership and unparalleled work ethic. She achieved many awards and commendations of which she was proud and most-deserving. Dee and Dan enjoyed relaxing at the beach, exploring Texas in their RV, and spending time with their family and friends. Whether it was "girl trips" with Laurie, Christie and her late mother Lucille, taking her grandchildren to places such as Branson, Corpus Christi and Palm Coast, Florida, or spending a frigid Thanksgiving with her family in New York City, Dee loved sharing her love and life while making new memories and seeing new places with her family. Additionally, Dee was an exceptional pianist and enjoyed playing for nursing home residents, family, and at social functions.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph - Honey Creek St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) or Bulverde/Spring Branch Pregnancy Care Center in Dee's name.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church - Honey Creek.
