Obituary

Dolores Marie O'Grady, 85, of San Antonio, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2017. She was born on December 13, 1932 to Harry and Grace (Gill) Conklin in Brooklyn, NY where she grew up and graduated from St. Joseph's High School.

Following graduation from high school she married literally the boy next door and love of her life Jeremiah "Jerry" O'Grady. They spent the next 65 years raising a family, traveling the world with the Air Force for 23 years, which eventually took them to Texas in 1970 where they chose to stay following Jerry's retirement from the Air Force. In Texas, Dolores worked for Ray Ellison Homes in the accounting department for 25 years where she became friends with everyone she ever met in the home building business, especially the contractors who she made sure always got paid on time and they always appreciated her for that.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; five children, Dennis, Sharon, Diane, Linda, and Michael and their spouses Femi, Tom, John, and Marci; 13 grandchildren, Patrick, Jeremiah, Brian, Matthew, Siobhan, Brittany, Christopher, Brandon, Evan, Evelyn, Jordan, Logan, and Kevin; 15 great-grandchildren and two more on the way; and her sister and brother-in-law Eleanor and James Bergen of Englishtown, New Jersey.
Christmas was a very appropriate day for her to pass as it was her favorite holiday and she knew it always brought her family together every year; this Christmas was no different.

The family will receive guests for a rosary followed by visitation on January 8, 2018, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Porter Loring Mortuary North at 2102 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, TX 78232. A mass will be held for her on January 9, 2018 at 11:30 AM at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1602 Thousand Oaks Drive, San Antonio, TX 78232 followed by a burial service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:45 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome a donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or on their website at www.stjude.org.
