... personified the ideal Christian mother ...

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dora Valdez Morales, age 93, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 with her family at her bedside. She met her husband, Frank T. Morales, Jr. while they were both employed at Fredericks in San Antonio. Married for 43 years, her beloved husband preceded her in death in December 1988.

She was the epitome of the best Mom any person could wish for. She personified the ideal Christian mother, who dedicated her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and loved ones. Since the late 1940s, Dora was a devout member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Her faith in the Lord provided her the courage and strength to endure difficult times and continued her strong beliefs which she instilled in her children and grandchildren.

She was an independent, elegant, valuable, humble teacher who taught and lived by her words and actions. She was a non-judgmental and non-biased advisor who always had an understanding heart. She was a patriotic citizen who kept up with current events, and loved to exercise her right to vote.

Dora V. Morales was an unselfish giver with a huge heart who always gave to others, and never expected anything in return. It brought her great delight as she gave to countless non-profit organizations which she became a member of many of them for her continuous donations. Her favorite leisure activities were reading and praying. Her favorite book was the Holy Bible, which she looked forward to reading before she began each day, while continuing her prayers throughout the day. Her favorite Bible verse was Psalm 23.

She gave her heart to her children and grandchildren expressing unconditional love, extending her kindness and generous nature to all those lives she touched. Dora was extremely immaculate and the "most fabulous" cook one could imagine! Her homemade creations were what everyone looked forward to, especially, around the holidays and various celebrations. Her outstanding creations of Christmas cookies and a variety of pastries always left people asking for more during any occasion.

Our Mom was a Godly woman, never known to speak unkind words toward anyone ~ her compassionate and thoughtful actions toward others spoke volumes.

Her inner and outer beauty exuded a welcome feeling of inner strength, peace, and comfort.
She was our angel on Earth, that we will all miss forever.

Dora is preceded in death by her parents, Trinidad Rodriguez Valdez and Dolores Casa Valdez; her sisters, Josefina, Maria De Jesus, Ofelia; brothers, Trinidad and Gerardo; her beloved husband, Frank T. Morales, Jr.; their sons, Frank V. Morales III and Jerry V. Morales; and her grandson, Jaime Thompson.

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Sylvia F. Davila and Cynthia D. Morales; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, as well as countless other extended family members.
