Obituary

Edward P. Socha, age 81, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 in Spring Branch, Texas. He was born on June 23, 1936 in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts to Peter and Mary (Spieczny) Socha.

Ed retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer on April 1st, 1984 after serving for 30 years. He then went into Civil Service, running Special Services at the Trident Submarine Base in Silverdale, WA. for about 10 years. Ed's passion was to travel and experience new things with his wife whom he loved dearly, he also loved his grandchildren very much, Ed & Donna stayed very active throughout retirement, and as everyone knows, he loved to joke around.

He was preceded in death by his father, Peter Socha; mother, Mary (Spieczny) Socha; and sister, Jane Socha. Ed is survived by his wife, Donna Socha; his two sisters Dorothy Stahelski and Valeria (Viola) Peters, his stepchildren, Mike Linneman, Teri Linneman, Mark Linneman and their spouses; four grandchildren Teresa Adcock, Sara Mireles, Katie Linneman, and Laura Linneman, great granddaughter Emma Mireles; niece Barbara Pelzel and husband Ron and their children Rachelle, Janelle and Tiffany; nephews Mark Stahelski and his wife Barbara and their children Robert and Daniel, Scott Eaves and his wife Leann; Greg Eaves and his wife Gayle.

Ed did not want anyone to be sad or cry while we gather to pray and celebrate his life, which we all know will be next to impossible. His wish for the celebration is that everyone dress in bright colors because, after all, Ed was a bright and uplifting soul.

A short Memorial/Pictorial will precede a Rosary at St. Joseph Catholic Church- Honey Creek Chapel on Monday February 5th at 6:30 PM.
