Obituary

Elizabeth (Betty) V. Marshall passed away peacefully on November 21, 2018 in San Antonio at the age of 96.
She was born Elizabeth Anne Voight to Clara and Harvey Voight on July 11, 1922 in Waupaca Wisconsin. She spent her early years in South Bend, Indiana and summers in Loyal and Marshfield WI. Betty graduated from Girls Trade and Technical School in Milwaukee WI in 1939.
Along with raising her children, she had a career as a secretary and executive secretary. She was very proud to have worked for Harley-Davidson in Milwaukee. Her shorthand and typing skills were beyond compare.
She often said that her children were her greatest accomplishment and brought her immense joy and pride. She dearly loved her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty raised her family in the Milwaukee area, then moved to San Antonio in 1979. She retired to New Smyrna Beach Florida in 1990 where she spent many happy years. She returned to San Antonio in 2011 to be near her beloved family.
She was a talented writer, crossword puzzle enthusiast, enjoyed baking, coffee and pretty much anything sweet.
Music was an important part of her life and brought a smile to her face especially in her later years. She had an enduring love for Liberace and Willie Nelson.
Betty and her late husband Frank C enjoyed traveling across the USA collecting coffee mugs and memories from almost every state.
Despite heartbreaking tragedy in her life, she maintained an incredible sense of humor and positive attitude until the end. We will always remember the twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes when she laughed . She was exceptionally strong (and stubborn) and gave her children a sense of security and life lessons that will not be forgotten.
She is survived by her 6 children; Barb (Russ) Panneton, Debbie (Mark) Newborn, Timothy, Scot (Kris) Brunke, Steven A. (Lisa) Kirchner and Mary Harrell; 6 grandchildren, Jessica (Drew) Gleason, Bryan Schober, Sarah (Brandon) Bergman, Tommy Brunke, Kyle (Sarah) Kirchner, Madison Kirchner; and
11 beloved great-grandchildren.
Betty was a proud Gold Star Mother, having lost her oldest son Richard in Vietnam in 1965.
She was preceded in death by Richie, infant daughter Jane, brothers Richard and Joseph Voight, her parents, and spouses Joseph Brunke, Arthur Kirchner and Frank C. Marshall.
Her family will inter her ashes at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens in Edgewater Florida.
Betty (Mom, "Beatrice", Grandma, Grandma Buddy, Great-Grammy) will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
