Obituary for Erin Elizabeth Aloy

July 17, 1981 - February 29, 2020
San Antonio, Texas | Age 38

Erin Elizabeth Aloy was born in San Antonio on July 17, 1981. Erin was surrounded by her loving family when she returned to Christ on February 29, 2020. Erin is survived by her husband Karsten Krooss; her mother and father, Sharon and Ron Aloy; her brothers: Clay and wife Virginia; David and wife Jessica, and their daughter Abigail; and brother Benjamin. Other family survivors include: Aunt Nancy and Uncle Hal Fieseler; Aunt Susan and Uncle Dean Huddelston; Aunt Karen and Uncle Cliff White, and their daughter Catherine; cousins: Tessa Galaznik and her children Joey, Morgan, and John; Tama and her husband Richard Bently; Amy and her husband Rich Canter, and their children Chase and Hays; Charlie and his wife Sara Baker.

Erin graduated from MacArthur High School and earned an Associate's Degree from San Antonio College. Erin worked at various positions in the food service industry.

Erin's passion was in the kitchen. She had a predisposition for the culinary arts. This was most evident at Christmas time; she would gift her family with her special sauces especially suited for their palate, and on special occasions, she would carry on the Aloy family tradition of homemade ravioli.

One of Erin's favorite pastimes was picnics with her husband along the banks of the Comal River, and watching her dog Brindle chase ducks in the water.

Erin had a tender heart for any stray animal. At her last place of work, she would feed every feline within her vision and would affectionately refer to them as her "hobo cats". If she could, she would have brought every stray dog and cat home.

While in the ICU for 93 days, Erin was cared for by a staff of dedicated, loving, and compassionate nurses and doctors. It's impossible to list all of them; however, we would like to thank Dr. Simpson and nurses: Monica, Carmina, Elston, Debra, Ann, Elizabeth, and Rachel. Also, a very special thank you to the respiratory and physical therapists who attended Erin throughout her stay: Renee, Brian, Logan, and Taylor. Lastly, a very special "thank you" to Chaplain Margaret.

Erin will be remembered as a loving wife, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

10:30 A.M.

Rev. Michael Crocker will officiate.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
