Obituary

MSgt. Ernest A. Bagley, Jr., USAF (Ret.), age 86, of Universal City, Texas passed away on July 25, 2017. Ernie was born in Lebanon, New Hampshire to Ernest A. Bagley Sr. and Shirley A Gillette, who later blessed him with a brother Earl J. Bagley, who he loved dearly.
He grew to be a strong athletic young man, and by the time he graduated from high school he had earned 14 varsity letters in Baseball, Basketball, and Football. Shortly after high school in 1951 he enlisted in the united States Air Force where he served 24 years. He was deployed to many places in the united States and overseas, ending his service at Security Hill in San Antonio, Texas, retiring proudly in 1975.
During that time he married Pauline A. Vollmer and they had 8 children. He later married Edwina Thompson and grew his family to 10. Ernie and Edwina embarked on their lives together enjoying lots of love and laughter, as they traveled to many places celebrating their life's journey with family and friends.
Ernie was a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend. he will never be forgotten and will live on within our hearts for eternity.
He was preceded in death by his children, Timothy A. Bagley, Therese A. Burnett and Tracey G. Bagley. Ernest is survived by his wife, Thelma Edwina Bagley; brother, Earl J. Bagley; daughter, Christine Thompson; son, Theodore Bagley and wife Sheri; son, Tobias Bagley and wife Kim; daughter, Patricia Bagley and Damon Rouse; son, Tommy Thompson and wife Jennifer; daughter, Catherine Miller; daughter, Gina Pitts and Bobby Singer; son-in-law John Burnett, husband of Teresa Burnett; niece, Kelly Marshall; grandchildren, Scott and Sara Reimer; Jennifer and Steve Anderson; Rocky and Sara Alvillar; Dalton Miller; Leighton, Darby and Aiden Bagley; Teddy and Eleana Bagley; Trent and Cody Pitts; Emory Dugas; Elliot Canonan; Mallory and Mitch Thompson; and Nathan and Sam Burnette; and great grandchildren, Haley, Alyssa, Payton and Lily Reimer; Zach and Ryan Anderson; and Harley Bagley.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 North Loop 1604 East.

Interment with Military Honors will follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 10223 McAllister Freeway, Suite 100, San Antonio, Texas or Boysville, Inc., P.O. Box 369, Converse, Texas.

For those planning to attend the service at Main Post Chapel, please allow sufficient time as you may be asked to receive a pass from the Visitor's Center at Fort Sam Houston.
