Obituary

Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And, yet I am not alone because the Father is with Me. These things I have spoken to you that in Me you have peace. John 16: 32-33
Mrs. Florence "Tut" Irene Brothers Jackson was born on March 3, 1943 to Reverend William Roy Brothers and Cleo Florence Hardeman Brothers in Star Town, Texas. She was the fifth child and first girl born into the family of four boys and two girls. She was doted on by her grandparents Leroy "Dink" and Estella Louisa Brothers. Florence always wanted to do whatever "the boys" (her brothers) were doing, especially Joe. She was fiercely protected by her brothers, Willie Ray, James, Curt, Joe and her cousin Sonny. All of whom are still protecting her in heaven.
She began her Christian journey at William Taylor United Methodist Church in Luling, Texas. She moved to San Antonio while in high school. She attended different churches as she and her husband moved throughout Texas and Oklahoma. While in San Antonio, she and her family were members at Bethel United Methodist Church.
Florence was a math wiz in school. Florence also played softball and was a member of the pep squad while attending Rosenwald in Luling. She graduated from Edgewood High School in 1963. She was an animated storyteller, especially when she reminisced about the good ol' days going to town in Luling. Her time in Star Town and Luling made her be in tune with nature causing her to have a strong appreciation of nature.
She married Donald Ray Jackson on August 14, 1970 and had one daughter, Dr. Flodonna Jackson. She worked as a domestic and nurse's aid and a cook for the United States Air Force. Her most important job was wife and mother.
Florence was affectionately known as Tut. She was everybody's Aunt Tut and to some nieces and nephews, Aunt Florence. She helped raise all of her sibling's children in one form or the other. She would welcome her nieces and nephews in her home when they were sick, parents needed a sitter, or just because she was there at the house. She loved her family unconditionally. She aged gracefully.
Florence departed this Earthly life to be with the Lord on May 25, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cleo Brothers; brother, Thomas James Brothers; first cousin, George "Sonny" Brothers; her father, Reverend William Brothers; her other brothers, Willie, Curtis, and Joe Brothers. Those left to cherish her precious memory include her devoted husband, Donald (Don/Ray) Jackson of Live Oak, Texas; caring daughter, Flodonna Jackson of Decatur, GA; sister, Mayme Washington of San Antonio, Texas; sisters-in-law, Bernie Lee "Subie" Brothers and Gloria Brothers both of Denver, Colorado; Cousin Sonny's wife, Betty Brothers of San Antonio, Texas; and one aunt, Jeanette Warren of San Antonio, Texas; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.
Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him. Deuteronomy 7: 9
