Obituary

Florence M. Kotara was called to our Heavenly Father's side on Thursday, May 17, 2018. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Lambert Kotara, her beloved son, Russell Kotara, her parents Frank and Kathryn Langfeld, and her brother, James Langfeld.

Florence was born in San Antonio, Texas, on September 7, 1930. She graduated from Incarnate Word High School and went to further her education with an associate's degree allowing her to try her hand at a number of different positions, including accounting, secretarial work, and retail sales. But, her favorite role, and one she excelled at, was a homemaker. Her home was always warm, inviting and welcoming.

She lived all her days in beautiful ways and with God's grace. Florence and Lambert were longtime members of St. Gregory's Church in San Antonio, where she spent many years on the Altar Society and as a Eucharistic Minister. Together, Florence and Lambert also enjoyed serving the community by delivering Meals on Wheels.

Florence will be greatly missed and is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Griffith and her husband, Donald; son, John Kotara and his wife, Mary; daughter, Joyce Jaeger and her husband, Joe; and son, Steven Kotara and his wife, Debbie. She and Lambert were so proud of their 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren: grandson, Michael Griffith and his wife, Rose, along with their 5 children; granddaughter, Melissa Witwer and her husband, BJ and their 2 children; granddaughter, Karen Harriss and her husband, Keith and their 2 children; granddaughter, Becky Kotara; grandson, Scott Kotara; granddaughter Jennifer Chisolm and husband, Andrew along with their 2 children; grandson, James Jaeger and wife, Brandi and their 5 children, and grandson Cody Kotara. She had numerous nieces and nephews and was so fond of each of them. Florence was happiest with all of her family together, and she especially loved seeing all of the kids laughing, playing, and running around. Her family was her greatest blessing, and she was truly blessed.
