Francisco (Frank) V. Uriegas, age 86, was called home to be with the Lord and died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, October 02, 2017. He was a devoted, dedicated, and loyal husband, dad, grandpa, and friend. Frank was born in Thelma, TX to parents Jose Angel and Tomasa (Villarreal) Uriegas. At the age of 18, Frank went to work at Kelly Air Force Base. At the age of 22, Frank was drafted into the Army during the Korean War and served his time in Germany. After he completed his service with the Army he joined the Army Air Corp Reserves (Air Force) until his retirement, after serving over 25 years for his country. He was a dedicated employee and retired from Kelly AFB as an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor. While serving in the Reserves, Frank earned his Associates Degree at St. Philip's College.

On February 27, 1955, he married Virginia Sanchez, building a home in San Antonio, TX. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage and six children. Frank enjoyed telling stories about his life, barbequeing, cooking, watching the Cowboys and Spurs, but above all, he enjoyed his family. Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia, children; Olga Uriegas (Edward DeLaCruz); Anna Uriegas-Cadena (Ken, deceased); Arturo Uriegas (Denise); Gilbert Uriegas, Danny Uriegas (Marilu); and Sandra Marks (Robert); 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brother, Indalecio Uriegas (Beatrice); sisters, Elvira Martinez, Elida Garcia (Ernest) and Lorenza Balderas; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
