Frank Lettere Macias, age 74, went to be with the Lord on February 13, 2020. He was born on December 5, 1945 to Jesus Macias and Anna Perrone Lettere in San Cesario di Lecce, Italy. The area known as Salento, the land of the Air, Sea, and Sun. Anna and Frank arrived in New York City's Ellis Island after World War II on April 29, 1948 on the Oceanliner known as the Moto Nave Vulcania. Anna's and Frank's names are engraved on the Ellis Island Wall of Honor. He lived most of his life in San Antonio, Texas where he graduated from Thomas A. Edison and attended San Antonio College.

Frank, a Vietnam Era Veteran served 4 years in the United States Navy and was a Radio Operator on the US Hector. He volunteered to join the Navy in 1967 and served in the Pacific. He was stationed in Long Beach, California and was Honorably Discharged in 1971.

After his discharge from the US Navy, Frank worked for the State of Texas for 10 years. He left the State and worked for USAA until his retirement in 2007.

Frank was a singer, songwriter, and blues guitarist. He was known as the Blues Legend of San Antonio and served on the board of the San Antonio Blues Society for many years. He began playing guitar at the age of 13 in the juke joints in his old neighborhood of Kenwood in the Northside of San Antonio and played lead guitar for many bands all over the State of Texas. His music his well-known and documented.

Frank was also a writer of novels having one published, Last of the Texas Outlaws, which is still available on Amazon, and one which is still in manuscript form and has not yet been published. His style was non-fiction and investigative in nature and researched his subjects to the point where you could identify with them. He was a great historian and was sought out by researchers all over the state for his knowledge of Texas History.

Frank is survived by his wife Claire Sena. He is also survived by his former wife Victoria Sears along with their children, Frank Lettere Macias Jr., Australia, Michael Anthony Macias, San Antonio, Yvonne Anne Macias, (Alexander), San Antonio, and Christopher Jesus Macias, San Antonio. He is survived by his siblings, Victor Macias, Carmelo Macias (Dolores), Jesus Macias (Tina), Mary Jane Macias, Lucy Macias, and Joann Macias, and is also survived by his grandchildren Michael (Maria), Justin (Monica), Brandon, Jonathan, Natasia, Elicia, and Amber (Justin), and his great grandchildren Desiree, Isabella, Albert, Brooklyn, Jace, and Nataly.

The Macias Family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 - 9:00pm., Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Porter Loring Mortuary North Chapel located at 2102 Loop 1604 E.
