Obituary

Frank Michael Vilagi, died at the age of 79 on August 5, 2017 following a fall and pneumonia.

He leaves his wife of 37 years, Patricia H Vilagi (nee Moffat); his daughter, Jennifer L Dawson and her husband Bart Dawson; his daughter, Becky Orozco and her husband James Orozco; his sister, Theresa Demer (Nick Demer); brother, Nick Vilagi (Joan Vilagi); six grandchildren (Lauren, Caitlyn, Timothy, Heather, Nathan, and Sammy); 1 great-grandchild (Cohen), as well as nephews (Mark, Mathew, Chris, and Daron); and many friends.

Frank was born the first son of Frank and Esther Vilagi in Geneva, Ohio. At the age of 4 he and his family moved to San Antonio. Frank attended St. Gerard's from the 1st Grade thru to High School Graduation in 1955. Following high school, he joined the Army, from which he was honorably discharged in 1962. After serving in the Army Frank worked in the Telecommunication Services Industry for 35 years, beginning with Western Electric, then ATT, and ending his career with Alcatel Lucent from which he retired in 1996. His career took him on travels throughout the continental United States.

In life Frank was an avid reader always seeking to learn and challenge himself. His hobbies included wood working, building useful items for their home, gardening & Poker Night with his buddies. Following retirement, he perfected his baking skills. Some of the favorites of the family were his rolls and sweets. Grandkids would fight over who got the last roll. Frank was always known for his vast intellect. He was the first to admit that he was a procrastinator, but it was only because he planned every task and that is what made him successful at every task he undertook. Frank always set a wonderful example of what a good husband should be. He would get up early on Valentines days to hand select a dozen roses to have them sitting on the dining room table for his wife Pat to find. He was a caregiver for his wife and his family. Taking care of household repairs in their home as well as helping family with projects was something of which he took great pride. The grandchildren always looked to him for advice on all topics and saw him as the strength of the family. His greatest Joy at the end of life was spending time with his wife Pat and enjoying time with their grandchildren whether during summer "Mimi/Pawpaw Camp" or attending numerous sporting or school events to cheer them on with Pride. Franks absence will be deeply felt but we know we will see him soon in Heaven.
