Obituary

Frank Rodgers Jr., age 84, entered God's rest on May 18, 2019 at Kindred Hospice Care Center with his family by his side. Frank was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 4, 1935 and was raised by his mother Mary Catherine Booker and stepfather Webster Cole Farris. Frank graduated from Burbank High School where he played varsity football, was a golden gloves featherweight boxer and was District President of Future Farmers of America. Following high school, Frank attended ministerial school in Amarillo, Texas. He married Barbara Gail Campbell on August 14, 1953 and together raised their three daughters in San Antonio, Texas. In addition to working in the floral industry for over 50 years, Frank served as a minister for Highland Hills Church of Christ. He was involved with Youth and Outreach ministries and loved serving in that capacity. As a minister Frank reached out to the surrounding community as he strived to treat everyone he encountered with dignity including those on the margins of society. Frank opened the doors of his heart and home to anyone in need. His heart for sharing and living the gospel shaped every area of his life inspiring others to seek God's purposes in their own lives.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Webster Farris; brother James Farris; and sister Carolyn Heinsohn. Frank is survived by his beloved wife of almost 67 years, Barbara Rodgers; daughters Patricia Rodgers, Cheryl Holley and husband Greg; Debbie Rodgers; grandson Austen Holley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews extended family members, and friends.
