Gary Edwin Gaut unexpectedly joined the heavenly choir on Sunday. He was born in Lynn, Alabama to Arlie and Pearl Gaut.
After Arlie's death, Pearl married FL Swindle who became "Daddy" to Barbara, Gary, Ronald, and Gail. Gary graduated from Kentwood High School in Louisiana, was wed to Kaye Barnette, and had two children Deborah and Gary Jr. As a Mississippi State University graduate, he began his career with the Air Force Audit Agency at Lackland, living in England, Florida, Virginia, California and retired at Randolph AFB in 1999.
He enjoyed his retirement immensely. Music was a huge part of Gary's life. He was active in AHUMC Open Door class, its sanctuary choir, and Joy Singers, sang with the Chordsmen and San Antonio Symphony Master Singers, and played baritone in the Beethoven Band and church combo.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, two children, two grandsons, Michael and Mark, and his two sisters. Gary was much loved and will be sorely missed.
