Geneva (Genie) Jane Patiño, 88, died on Thursday, 15 March 2018 in San Antonio, TX. She was born in San Antonio, TX on 16 May 1929. Her parents, now deceased, were Oscar B. Garza and Ann Bennett Garza.

Genie graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1947 where she participated in the Lassos. Her spouse of 69 years was Tony Patiño, Jr. with whom she lived in San Antonio, Kenedy and Brady TX.

For years Genie worked as school secretary at Irving Middle School before she was hired in 1969 to open the first formal office of the Fire and Police Pension Fund. She was Office Manager and Administrative Assistant for B.C. Medlock. Genie retired in 1989 and followed her passions of travel and quilting.

Her greatest pleasure was to be surrounded by her children, 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Genie and her husband, Tony, were founding members of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. A member of the fire fighters Ladies Auxiliary - Angles of Ashes. She was an avid quilter and belonged to the Greater San Antonio Quilt Guild.

Russomano (Albert); Carolyn A. Patino; Grandchildren, Gina M. Wood (Gregory), Vandenburg AFB, CA; Michael P. Patiño, Austin, TX; Rita E. Rossini (Gino), Irving, TX; Lora Y. Lillard (Matthew), Portland, OR; Anthony P. Patiño, Austin, TX; Albert I. Pearson, Brady, TX; A. John Paul Patiño (Meghan), Seattle, WA; Amy E. Pearson, Brady, TX; Great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Daniel. Rebecca, Caroline, Thomas, Dean, Sophia, Fiona, Lydia, Carlos, Marianne, Leo, Anthony, Julian, Anna, Zoe, and Elizio.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough.
