Obituary

George Decker, age 46, husband, father, and dear friend to all, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on January 23, 1972 in San Antonio to Juan and Estella Decker. He married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Laura Melanie Sowers Decker, on December 6, 1997. Their love grew stronger on October 31, 2007 with the birth of their son, Kingston Crockett Decker. He loved playing football and basketball with his son, and together enjoyed watching the UT Longhorns play. The greatest joy in his life was being a father to his loving son. He loved being a dad. George was a graduate of the University of Texas and for the past 20 years worked as a pharmacist at the HEB in Hondo, Texas, where he was loved and respected by many. George sought to instill in others a zest for life, a commitment to friends and family, and the power of a smile.

George is survived by his wife, of over 20 years, which he affectionately called "Babe", Laura Melanie Sowers Decker and son Kingston Crockett Decker "Big Guy"; parents, Juan and Estella Decker; brothers, John Decker,his wife Susan and their children Ryan and Zachary; Alex Decker, his wife Amanda and their children Alejandro and Alycia; father-in-law, Richard Sowers, Jr.; mother-in-law, Sandra Sowers; sister-in-law, Carrie Sowers; aunt and uncle, Patricia and Kenny Kichura; Kingston's Godparents, Lulu and Zaragoza Ramos; his dearest friends, Oscar Leos, Sam Leos and Jeff Dillahunty, along with numerous other family and friends.

In celebration of his life, friends and family are asked to wear the UT colors as a tribute to George's love for the Longhorns.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2018 St. Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church.
